Dealer replaced VP at 45,200 miles. I installed the Vulcan big line and new lift pump relocate to frame rail. Fuel pressure is great and am very pleased with the Vulcan product from Eric... 15 psi at idle... does not drop below 13 at 75-80 mph. About 7-10 days after VP was replaced I first received only the P1693 code... soon after that the P0216 reappeared. I have no check engine light on and truck seems to run great with good fuel mileage 21-22 mpg (highway using the truck overhead computer). Took the truck on trip from Raleigh, NC to Nashville, TN... ran great... a little over 47,000 miles now. I called dealer and he said bring it back in to check it out. Dealer knows I relocated the lift pump and warranty is voided only for that part (lift pump).

What do you think guys??? Lemon remanufactured VP44???

Very well could be.

If its not though, and I would venture to doubt it is, I'd say the code was never cleared, or there is a sensor somewhere that doesn't like something.

Take it back and see, its free. Let us know what happens.

Thanks RJ... codes were cleared. I have a basic scanner that I use and I cleared them once already... they returned... your right... try to get it as right as I can while it is not my dime huh?!

I just had my VP44 replaced under warranty. My dealer had to order 2 VP-44s. Said the first VP-44 did not pass their test and was broke from the factory. Also, I paid no money out of pocket. 100% under warranty.

Also, the service manager said the Vulcan kit and anything from Banks will not void the warranty. Also, Dodge does not carry the lift pump, so if the lift pump failed, they will want to do the in-tank mod.

My VP-44 failed at 48000 miles. My lift pump failed at 42000 miles.

Dang it's too bad mine didn't die 15,000 miles ago!
