OK, here we go. What can I do to the engine and not loose my warranty.

Can I chip it or put a Banks Six shooter on it, the dealer wants me to buy new injectors $1200.

So what can I do?

Tinsmith3,

Welcome to the group.

Most of the aftermarket mods that you will find will void warranty in some form. Depending on how much of a **** your dealer is, depends on how far you can go.

I guess if you are really concerned about the warranty, you better stay with an aftermarket air system (AFE) (which they can complain about, but won't lead to any failures). And then let them do the high dollar injectors.

Like I said, if you take the honest route and have a box, and it causes problems, it's your problem, not thiers.

Tell that to the guy over on DodgeTrucks.org who has an 04. 5 with an AirRaid intake and a blown turbo that his dealer said was caused by his intake, therefore no warranty.

HI,

Just asking, I have been around the block a few times on truck mods, one thing I learned. When it goes in for service for a broken part, it's Stock!

I plan on a air box, but the dealer will never see it.

As for WeirCummin

Request a refund for your membership and get off this and all other diesel related sites... ... ... ... .

Let me know when you do this, and maybe I will too.

I would not see a real problem as far as a filter like the aFe Pro-Guard 7 or an exhaust modification goes. I was told by my service manager (who is a very good guy) that a fueling box is a big no-no. I suppose that it all depends on the dealer about some of the mods, especially the minor ones. That being said, some mods will show up on the computer when checked at the dealer's shop.

I'll make you a crazy offer - loan me the truck for 9 months. at the end of that time, i'll return the truck with all components throughly tested in harsh real-world environments, meticulous maintainence, and NO WARRANTY WORRIES!

told you it was a crazy offer--you'd be crazy to accept!

seriously though--i personally like the injector update with a pro-guard filter and a muffler upgrade (i personally run a glasspack).

Hi,

I may go for the injectors, I'm not one of these guys with endless money thats able to buy all the goodies.

I just want a little more power, and better mileage, They say the Kax injectors will do that.
