I would like to be prepared...

I recently bought (3 months ago) a 2006 2500 4wd. The dealer has since closed it's doors and I am now face with having to take it to a dealer tha dosen't know me from Adam.

It is my understanding and please correct me if I am wrong but aside from Chryslers 3/36 Cummins has put a 100000 mile warraty on the engine itself. If this is the case is it transferable, because that will be the next thing out of the dealers mouth.

Any info would be great the truck only has 45000 miles on her and I started to get some coolant leaking from somewhere near the back of the motor on the right side.

I am the second owner of my truck and when I took it in at 54,000 miles I had no issues with warranty coverage. They did tell me that next time before I came in I should take of my Edge Juice w Att though.

Not that this specifically answers your question, but at least it looks hopeful for you in my case.

The 100K warranty on the motor is administered by Dodge and not Cummins, but either way it is transferrable. I am not sure if the transfer is automatic or you have to go through a transfer process; I have heard both.

Take a look under the truck, there is a small length of heater hose (6" I believe) that tends to weep coolant. Usually just tightening the clamps stops the leak. This is a common thing but easily repaired if it is as I have stated.
