Has anyone heard how warranties will be handled when Chrysler goes away to Fiat? What about the extended ones where if you don't use them, you get your money back? As another poster stated, this could be where parts and service get interesting!

Got mine in 06! However, now that I will be part owner in GM and Chrysler, I want to know what kind of new car I'll be getting for my troubles!:-laf

As of this point they say there will be no change in coverage for warranties or service contracts... ... ... ... ... Thay are still paying claims Obama is not :-laf

I think with the money we threw a the companies in loans pre-bankruptcy and the additional tax $$$$$$ thrown at the companies as part of the bankruptcy plan reorganization you'd have to say Obama/the American Taxpayer are paying the the claims, without the money injected there would be no warranty repairs as here were no profits!!!!

And w/out the bad home loans the auto industry could have continued selling cars on credit that would have been available- no bail out would have been needed

my niece works in the service dept of one of the largest dodge dealers within a fifty mile radius of our home town. the biggest change to be expected by customers, more down time when you take your vehicle in for service. with a couple of dealers in the region on the hit list to be closed, the load on the ones staying will be even heavier. her dealership was allready getting a heavier work load due to a couple other dealers closeing a few months back.

you make a good point bob. but i will add this as well, fuel prices. i know of more people who were effected by fuel prices, then any other issue. now speculators are pushing those prices again. if prices get anywhere near what they did last summer, things will go from bad to worse.
