I have had my '06 for about 2mo now and feel the stock power is good and with a 100K warrenty on the motor I didn't want to do anything to void it out. But like any hobie motor head, I am craving for more power :D:D

So if I instal an Edge or smarty or bully dog does the Cummins warranty get voided?

My other reason is you spend $500 on guages so why not another $500 and get the read outs and all the power. Pluss with the new MPG setting starting to come out it will be sweet to go from Econ to light them up...

While I've never tried other power upgrades. Smarty works great on my 06'. I've also had it to the dealer with Smarty back to stock. No problems. I'm running DDP honed injectors. Smarty has never been set above SW #3.

real world: depends on individual dealership

my world: local dealership is very mod freindly ... ;), i've never lied to them and never been denied a claim ...

:-laf In your signature it says you have turned every bolt your self... ... ... . then you say you have never been declined on a warranty? So does that mean they can't deny you if you haven't made a claim or you are exagerating a bit ?

Bob

i have turned every bolt myself that wasn't covered under warranty ...

no sense paying for parts that dodge will ... .

guess the mileage totals confused you hunh?

If you use a downloader (Flashpaq, Bully Dog) it won't matter if the dealer is "Mod friendly" if they need to use Star.

At 96K, when I (and the tech) knew I had at least one bad injector:

Tech ran "typical" tests...

Had to call Star to authorize more tests, parts, etc. (not his choice)...

Star immediately asked for info from the ECM...

Info they wanted showed "less than 30 min since ECM flash"...

Restricted my engine, emissions, trans. warranty "on the spot".

I was 100% stock but using "tow" w/the Flashpaq.

Flashed back to stock the night before.

Many, many customers in that area just like me.

After that, you'd never know that I'd actually already talked to the "mod friendly" dealer about my Flashpaq.

I'm lucky the service manager didn't charge me labor just to get the truck back.

Can anyone say a**h*l*?

I'd put the dealership name in here but the tech is a good guy and a very good tech.

Petro Brothers in Warsaw, Indiana is lucky to have him.

Sorry Chuck... but you work for a jerk, and a lame jerk at that.

Did he ever "call" anyone???

I doubt it.

and I waited a year to post this

My two cents.

PB, Just Learned Something, Thanks to your post.

NN, The Ad stuff for Smarty claims it's undetectable by the dealer. My guess is that it does not reset the ECM flash timer/counter. I know of at least four guys using Smarty on their 3rd Gens and have not heard of any complaints with the dealer or Dodge denying their warrantee. Just my . 02 worth, Moose
