I seem to have a couple problems that I figured someone out there has had... I have a 2007 3500 crew cab single rear wheel 6. 7 with 24,500 mostly highway miles. It's sort of winter in North Texas (this morning 35 F), went to to start my truck, turned the key on and the glow plug light came on and 10-15 seconds later it went out at which time I tried to start. It cranked over several times without starting. I stopped cranking and turned the key off. Waited 5-10 seconds, turned the key on no glow plug light and tried starting, again no start. Did it 2 more times (same process) and again, no start and no glow plug light. Turned key off, waited another 10-15 seconds, turned the key on and the glow plug light came on, went out after 10-15 seconds, cranked it and everything worked fine.

After warming up (15 minutes) I pulled out of the driveway and onto the street, I depressed the accelerator slightly (1/8-1/4 inch) and nothing happened, I kept pushing down slightly another (1/8-1/4 inch) and the engine speed and vehicle speed increased rapidly and I was off. First stop sign it happened again, after several turns everything went back to normal. This is the second time this has happened, any thoughts?

Will the G30 Emissions, Oxygen Sensor Module or ECM Reprogram fix any of these problems? My truck goes in for these on 1-3-08.

I see 2 or 3 issues that might be a problem here without enough information yet to really figure out the problem... .

a loose connection with moisture on this cold morning might be your problem and the computer just didn't see a senor input to allow your truck to start... IF you had no white smoke while it cranked after the second or third time the injection system was not active... .

I could go on from here... . tell your service writer in person as well as leave a written note in the cab with a complete detail of the problem for the tech... I've been known to hang a copy under the hood in an envelope with ""tech"" written on it so that the service writer can't pitch my work away... . as he always is a better judge of this than I am..... yea right... .

twice I've had techs write back """thanks"" on my notes in the cab after the work was done... .

Please let us know the outcome... . as I have a 6. 7 in a 5500 that will be on the road soon...

No 'Glow Plugs'... say 'Grid Heater'. :D

I live in wyoming and we have been seeing -15 my truck seems to rumble a little in the am if I just go and start and go the grid heaters cycle and that seems to make the truck stuttttter especialy if I dont let it warmup it is more profound. :-{}

You don't need grid heaters at 35F. I've forgotten to use mine a few times after driving the Matrix and it fires up even in the low teens. The truck sounds horrible for a few seconds but starts.

This is a good idea, that I never thought of.

My next service appointment will have an envelope with a copy of my note under the hood also.

I often wondered if my note was even read.

Thank for the tip ! ;)
