Well maybe not jail but check this new law out

Right. They'll have to prohibit operating motor vehicles on public roads due to all the oil and grease that washes into the storm drains. Oh, yeah, and in areas where road salt is used to melt ice/snow accumulation. And lets not forget the acid rain that washes into the storm drains.

Sounds like another stupid movie: "Bureaucrats Gone Wild". First the EPA requires all sewage be treated. Then, because storms cause treatment plants to be overloaded and raw sewage to be dumped into the effluent, EPA then requires storm runoff to be run separate from sewage. Now, with this stupid regulation, they will soon be requiring municipal runoff treatment plants to remove the oils, greases, acid, detergents, et al, from storm runoff.

And people still think the federal bureaucracy isn't too large and too invasive?

I'm sure some idiot in CA gov't is looking at that right now thinking "why not in CA"? Probably DEAN- head up my a$$ -=Florez.

You guys don. t know the half of it!I just got back from a hazmat class and the rules are unbelivable!Pretty much nothin goes down them. They even told about how the cigg butts, oil, chemicals and even blood from wrecks goes down with the rain water! There is so much bull it is a joke.

So lets see here . You take your nicely filtered water [fitered by the earth] out of your sump pump and discharge it into your lawn. the lawn has just been fertilized with nitrogen and sprayed for bugs. The grade takes the water away from the house and into the street to the-----STORM SEWERS !!!

I saw a list of chemicals applied to turfgrass and figures on fertilizer sales to city dwellers. City folk over apply this stuff to such a degree that they are applying fertilizer and pesticides at a rate 100's of percent higher than farmers. Algae blooms are the result. There used to be a paper hanging on the bulletin board where I bought my farm chemicals that described this. Mabey someone can post it.

These are the same geniuses that believe that a forest fire started by lightning should be allowed to keep on burning. I guess the runoff from erosion will be non-polluting because, after all, it is Natural:rolleyes:

There has been a Zero-Tolerance for contaminents in California storm drainage for quite a few years already - as the Hazardous Waste person for our newspaper (among other titles... ) I had to deal with the city on this in regards to waste water our plant discharged into storm drains.

Talk about crazy, idiotic laws, and people who originate and enforce them...

With a little luck, we'll be OUT of this state by this time next year...

And there you go... more tax dollars leaving the State. Soon we will be just the welfare State.

Gary,Then you know what i mean!!The laws and rules are so strict and stupid it's just a matter of time till we are boarded up in our houses and only allowed to breathe on odd days!!

I can see this coming to Dallas ASAP as the Mayor is trying to californicate Dallas.

They are going to keep pushing and pushing until we begin to push back and once that happens they won't like it at all.
