Washing The Tow Mirrors

My McKesh mirrors were pretty nasty. The webbing was dirty and the painted parts of the mirrors were covered with bug specks.



I've cleaned the surfaces with Windex but it never seems to do a good job and the painted surfaces looked worn and old and the webbing never seems to clean up very well.



So... I decided to stick the things in the dishwasher and see what happens and I'm glad I did, because now they look brand new, like I just took them out of the box.



I din't allow the dishwasher to go through the dry cycle. I was afraid that the heat might be too much for them. I took them out and allowed them to air dry.

Great idea Doc, how do you like those mirrors? I cant get mine to quit shaking, any ideas?

Deezul 1, I don't have any shaking problem with mine. Mine are not extended very far, just enough to clear the mirrors. I tighten them down good too. They are steadier than the factory mirrors.



If you have a deflector on the hood, it might be causing them to shake.

I have tried them in, out, tighter than tight, no improvement. They are an older set so who knows.

Do you have a Giant size dishwasher or did you remove the mirrors from the vehicle?
