Loretta,
Your directions are correct when you are getting off the east bound ramp for Jefferson Avenue (I think exit 14).
I would like to add the following: Using the west bound ramp for Jefferson Avenue is a little different. At the bottom of the ramp, turn right. At the second light, turn right onto Jefferson. At the next light, turn right. From there follow the previous direction ("Go to 1st. light (@ 1 mile) turn R. Go @ 1/2 mile to stop sign; turn L. Cross over RR tracks and go through narrow bridge; turn L into fairgrounds. ").
Here are a couple of driving tips I can offer. The west bound exit is short, downhill ramp with a 90 degree bend. Take it slow and watch for traffic that might be backed up to the highway. The entrance gate to the fair grounds will be about 75 feet after you cross the narrow bridge.
Folks coming from the south (morgantown, WV) on Int. 79 need to go west when they reach Int. 70 and follow the directions for the west bound Jefferson Avenue Exit.
For those coming out of the north (pittsburgh), I would recommend the following: Get off Int 79 at exit 41. At the end of the ramp, turn right. At the first light, turn left. At the next light, turn right. At the stop sign, turn right. Follow the main road about 3 miles. Cross the RR tracks and the gate will be on your right, just before the narrow bridge.
From my personal experiences of hauling into fairgrounds for tractor pulls, I know how frustrating it is to get lost and how it wrecks the night. If anyone has any questions on the directions, feel free to ask. Using my work email, -- email address removed -- is the best way. Eric
