You need to fill out your profile so we know what you got. Next wastegate or not. A wastegate is good so that you wont go above the efficiency of your turbo. It also wont let you build to much pressure and take out your head gasket. Now taking that into consideration say you have a 12-14 exhaust housing you should consider a wastegate. if you have a bigger housing 16-18-21 you really shouldn't have to have a wastegate unless you are pushing it over the efficiency of the turbo or the drive pressures are to great. It all depends on what you are trying to do. Maybe specify exactly what you are asking. Although I may be totally off in left field, so I am sure someone with more knowledge will straiten both of us out.

I like the 16mm none waste gate housing.

Parts that aren't there never wear out or give you trouble far from home.

Nothing wrong with a waste gated turbo. I just think its over kill.

I can turn up the fuel and ruin my transmission just as quick with my 16

Pulling my trailer in the mountains heat is an issue on those long up hill passes. With a smaller turbo your likely to have to back off the throttle anyway.

My $ . 02

non is cheaper...

never heard of a wastegate actuator going out on someone on these turbos... if it does, you can drive around it just fine.

a wastegated setup allows you to have a broader powerband/boost curve...

but, there's nothing wrong w/ a non wastegated setup, especially for something that's on the open road most of the time.
