I have been thinking about adding 215 injectors, however egt's can reach 1250 now. Someone recomended going to a bigger turbo housing like 14 or 16cm. I have noticed that a 14cm housing without wastegate is around $170, but with wastegate is more like $450. What are the hazards of running a non-wastgated 14cm. I would like to get a PDR turbo when funds perment to help with turbo lag as well. My boost now reaches about 32psi.

Thanks,

Jason

Try adjusting the wastegate for more before spending the $$$.

Shorter rod= more boost. I moved mine about 3/8" and went from 28 to 37 psi!! EGT's are much better too.

Seems to me you should have more than 32 psi. Check all your connections too.

Patriot,

Do you know of a link with wastgate ajustment instuctions, I am sure that I can do it just would like to see corect method.

Thanks,

Jason

Does anyone know what boast will go to if the stock setup is disconected / this is how my truck was when I bought it

As near as I can tell, the wastegate on my 96 has been seized shut for some time now. When it was stock, I had a max of 18 psi. One day I noticed I was up around 25 under hard throttle. Since I added a TST #6 plate, my 35 psi gauge is useless at WOT. I don't get up there too often, though.

No, sorry. It's pretty straight forward. If you have a minimum of mechanical knowledge, it shouldnt be a problem.

PZicha, no I dont. Depends on many different things. If you dont have gauges, you should.

Gauges are next on my to get list / does anyone know which ones match the stock ones for looks and lighting

Issue 34, NOV/DEC/JAN, 2001-2002 of the TDR REGISTER has a great article on gauges. In my opinion, this is a must read, especially if you think more expensive is better.

One of my primary concerns was lighting. Cost was a consideration; you can pay from $120 to $400 plus for the EGR only.

I went with the Isspro R3607T EV Pyrometer Kit w/10 ft lead and adjustable Thermocouple. Best price I found was from www.dieselpage.com. Send me a PM and I will give you the price.

I intend on changing my Boost and Trans Temp gauges later.

The Isspro site is www.Issproinc.com. I did not find it to be the easiest site to navigate, and I was told their prices are jobber. Can be had cheaper.

What do you guys at Auto Wurks Diesel have for that "Do I want a wastegate or not?" person?

In reading your signature, I see Isspro EV Gauges: Boost, Pyrometer, Engine Brake Pressure. Do you have any second thoughts on the Isspro EV Gauges? What are you measuring with the Engine Brake Pressure gauge?
