Replacement LED's for incandescent bulbs...

Today I was helping my wife disconnect the water hose from our fifth wheel and turned around and walked right into the edge of the slide out on the front of the trailer. I was too focused on working on my tractor ( trailer is parked at home ) and the force of the impact knocked me down and cut a big gash in my head. Bleed like a stabbed pig, went to the hospital and got 4 stitches and a tetanus shot. Have a pretty big lump and a very sore neck, feel like I was in a car wreck.

I knew sooner or later this was going to happen, glad we were at home and not out camping in the woods somewhere. I think I need a hard hat. Watch those corners.

Dont feel like your the only one that has done this these help soften the IMPACT take a box cutter and slit one side slide them over the edge of the slide out. Can even make the corners by cutting them width ways not all the way around and they make the corners pretty nice they are called pool noodles and we got them at WalMart

OF COURSE I'VE ONLY SEEN PEOPLE HIT THEIR HEADS :-laf

Wearing a hat or cap greatly increases the hitting of head on slides. LOL

Newt

X2 brother. Not just on slides, either.

I quit wearing hats about 30 years ago for the same reason.

Got sick of hitting my head, had a trip to the ER as well for 10 stitches when I tried to lift the rear corner of a 14 yard dump with my punkin'... ... Nothing bleeds like a head wound... .....

I do think that I moved it a little bit... ... . :D

Mike. :)

When extended, to prevent my noodle from being hit, I put on the noodles so I don't get the stitches. And not just on the verticale edges, also on the horizontals to.

Last winter while plowing snow with my ATV, and wearing a baseball cap... made contact with the pinbox on my 5vr. ouch ouch and ouch!
JJ, my friend Marlowe died last week and your "triple ouch" reminded me of him. He served a stint in Korea and learned a lot of the language---2 phrases. One was ah poe (ouch) the other was tak san ah poe (much ouch)! That pin box sounds like a "much ouch"! Mark

Nothing like the feeling of having your hard hat jammed down on your ears because of what you didn't see, just above the peak. :D:-laf

I always wondered what was worse, that or the potential blood letting that potentially would not have happened if the peak wasn't blocking the view. :-laf

Sometimes we get concentrating on one thing too hard and not paying attention to the obvious. (I guess this is one of those BTDT experience things!)

We have used pool noodles at work for years now when a slide is out on a coach. The bright colour even works with mechanics:) Shad

MERRY XMAS.

Ya, I'm bald and know the nicks well, and hats don't seem to prevent the scraping and bleeding. I'm around piping all the time so I turn my bill to the rear, but forget to sometimes, and its "tak san ah poe".

After twenty eight years in and around fighter aircraft, I know two things; it is good to be short, and it is good to move slow.

Mark, Sorry for the loss of your Friend. My FIL was in Korea, will have to try out the phrases on him, Thanks.

YEARS ago when I was a 20 year old, I was suffering a huge hangover. Had the hat jammed down on my head looking down on a bright clear day. Walking behind the barn, when WHAMMO, I was flat on my back. I walked into the silo filler pipe that hit me on the bridge of my nose. Lucky the brim of the hat kept the sharpish edge of the pipe from cutting my head. Sure as hell woke me up and fast.

You too??

Glad I'm not the only one!! :-laf

A couple weeks ago, I had the battery charger hooked up to the '92 that's parked with the nose slightly under the 5ver. I thought for sure that I had ducked under the kingpin... "triple ouch" AND some dirty words!! I WAS WRONG!! The lump that formed seconds later was dead center and gaining elevation quickly!! After I got up, I did a quick look around to see if there were any witnesses... Nope! In the clear until my brain started to register that "pain" thing... I just had to laugh because it reminded me of the Wile E. Coyote cartoons, but was on the verge of crying when it came time to wipe off the near perfect grease ring that surrounded my new knowledge lump LOL!!

Of all of the embarrassing things that have happened to me, it still doesn't top crashing on a moped!! :-laf:-laf

To much power for ya Mikey :-laf

Takes a BIG man to admit crashing on a moped on a world wide website.

I don't know as I would have brought that incident up on here... ... .

Did the flowered basket on the front that holds a 6lb Yorkie fall off so that you had to swerve in order to save the dog and you crashed... ... ... .

(Yes I can say that because I have a Yorkie, but he loves Cummins powered trucks) No baskets for him, only the center console will do.

Mike.

No dog to be injured as much as I was (pride/ego only), but it did hold a used Penzoil quart bottle of mixed gasoline that yielded enough to get me to my grandma's house and back several times... 6 or so miles each way!!

No witnesses to either incident, so it's all good!! LOL!!
