I hope he's not let down by AC. It's not what it used to be. Good luck with the buyer though.
Hunts Point will be an experience. Especially dealing with the Cross Bronx Expressway. I think he'll have good luck there.
I hope he remembers our convo about certain "hardware" coming into NY/NJ from other states.

I havent been to Hunts point in 15++ years, but I'm told they built a high fence around the place so it's not quite as bad as it used to be.
So I'm told. NYPD used to avoid the place.:-laf
Wayne's right about a/c. It's on it's way down the drain so don't get lost or go down the wrong street.

Gail's had inquiries from A City places.

Wayne we're flying into LGA so that CERTAIN HARDWARE won't be a
problem.

O'Hare airport is a disaster, Gail was upset about going anywhere near it, I thought how bad could it be?

Learn something new all the time.

Hunts Point??? A lot of Mainers have trucked potatoes in there over the years. Used to be a little wild, they would jump up on the trailer and pop the back doors while you were stopped at a traffic light.....I hear it's better but you still want to pay attention...

You can almost swim from LGA to hunts point. That won't be a bad ride. The ride itself (cab?) may be an experience of a lifetime however. When in the Bronx, try to see the Bronx botanical garden, the Bronx zoo, and Arthur Ave. to eat if there's time to play there.

Mike, HP is now the main market for the region, as South st. In Manhattan and Brooklyn terminal is gone. It's pretty huge up there. In daylight, I'd say its not as terrible as it used to be.

Gail's never actually been to HP when he was an O/O he ran 11 Western States at first he ran under someone else's authorities. As his business grew he applied for his own authorities so he could bid on hauls for himself & farm out loads to close trucking friends. At that point I was doing the bookkeeping he was doing very well & applied for 48 State Authority & received them. I got scared & gave him the ultimatum that lots of truckers feared, ME or the Truck.
He suspended his authority until this plan came about. It's mainly because he needed to find back-hauls for truckers hauling our beef in all directions. After this we're heading South to FL citrus product back-hauls abound, in homes direction. Really we're not wanting to make any income on this, taxes for us are bad enough, our Son and My Father have agreed to pay any incidental expenses. They and several other cattlemen are paying our way on this trip, Gail's been doing exceedingly well with sales and back-hauls closer to home in five states.

Manhattan is pretty clean & we've felt pretty safe lastnight late bar-hopping (more on this in a second) & walking around today seeing the Twin Towers Memorial & Penny doing shopping.

I have had time to re-think a thought that the Millennials are a Regional Disorder that's infested our society, when in fact I believe that it's TRULY A GENERATIONAL infestation of BRAINLESS HALF WITT'ED Morons that can't think for themselves.

I also have come to think that the Gay Bay in CA. Has filtered their sickness into other parts of the country. Bar hopping last night we happened into Several Gay Western themed saloons. I believe the one (I was pretty hammered) Flaming Saddles I did some karaoke for what looked like a bunch of twinkle toed Rhinestone, skinny pants, cowboys.

When heading back to the Four Seasons hotel I wanted to have some ice cream of course to continue on course The Big Gay Ice Cream store was our choice, not bad ice cream really.

Truly a an eye opener of a day!!

Just a REAL QUESTION how do they transport LIVE LOBSTER to the likes of the West coast? Surely they don't truck or rail them so that leaves air freight? That's got to be terribly expensive!!

I'm
just asking I've never ran a Reefer truck before.

BIG

I hope Penny's shopping took her down 5av from where the hotel is. Rockefeller center is right there too.
No clue on the Lobster Logistics. I'd guess a direct reefer run to the west coast?

I didn't think that trucking would work. Im no lobsterman, but do remember that they were brought to Loring AFB by some guy that had them in a plastic kiddie pool with just enough water to cover them & sold the just before the gate. Air transportation is way out my league.

Penny's been shopping Bloomingdale's, Macy's, were something that she wanted to go, for her kind of like Cabelas or Bass pro shop to us.

We did go to the Twin Towers Memorial (still PO'S me off to no end) after all they came to our house and did that. Going back out again today for more shopping and looking at the sights.

Just a question is there ANY ENGLISH SPEAKING CAUCASIAN TAXI DRIVERS?

I was just talking about a visit to NYC with the wife. The ONLY thing I'd have interest in seeing is Central Park, but not after dark though. ;) The shear size of Central Park is what impresses me.*

I won't goto the WTC thing. It's marketed too hard, and it's not solemn enough. It's still a serious issue.
Miss Penny is hitting 'em, but what about Saks? It's on 5th next to St. Patrick's. Both are worth seeing. There is a smattering of "regular" cabbies. Very hard to find.
There's so much more to do. How much time do you have?

Indeed there are some spots of CP you want to avoid anytime.
Betcha if you come with just the park in mind, you'll at least want to do the museums on the west edge of CP.

Visiting NYC one should tour Ellis Island to see where/how 99% of our forefathers arrived here. I toured CP in 1965 along with New York's Worlds Fair, Empire State Building, Rockefellew Square, Radio City Music Hall, Coney Island, Ferry Ride to Staten Island etc.

We also have a different look at the WTC memorial. While Tragic the death of the 1,000's of people who were going to work was just being in the wrong place at that time. Our thoughts were of the first responders they chose to make the sacrifice. That's not just a job its a "CALLING" our Son was a Fireman/Paramedic in California until budget cuts ended that. He & his family decided to leave CA and start over in MT, his heart will Always be with the Firemen that made the sacrifice to help others.

We've been shopping since we arrived, I made the comment at an Irish Pub lastnight having dinner that I was done, Gail said that he didn't believe that could EVER happen.

Today while he & our son attend a meeting & set up accounts for the back-hauls of veggies and then another business meeting over dinner tonight the rest of us are taking in the sights.

Thanks Everyone for your suggestions

Penny

I forgot to add that Gail has another meeting Tuesday and we will be leaving for a one night stop in Atlantic city, then to Florida for 4 of us the others are heading home Tuesday.
