Watched my Cummins drive away today

For the first time in many, many moons, my drive no longer holds the weight of a Cummins.

Just an hour ago, I watched my 04.5 drive away by someone other than my wife. I couldn't help to tip my hat and thank her for her 250k miles of service.

Thankfully, she's in good hands and will be loved for many more miles from a new owner that will care for her the way I always have.

Over the next few months will be a challenge for us as I no longer have a heavy hauler and I will have to rely on some good friends to deliver our ever changing needs. Unless I can find the right 2014 model in the next few weeks, I foresee myself ordering a 2015 truck and feverishly waiting for it to arrive somewhere around October. It will be tough.

It's hard to let the old dogs go...

A few weeks ago I sold my 1996 F350 7.3L/T444E 5-speed which I'd ordered and owned since new. He went to a friend's home, much better than becoming a landscape truck (crew cab), and I'd already purchased a '14 Cummins. It's good to be back.
