Competition water and methanol

I want to know what kind of results trucks running h2o/meth are seeing. I want to use it to cool down my exhaust temps when running my tst box on higher levels. Can you use h2o/meth all the time and does it clean up the exhaust at low boost? Thanks

You can use water or washer fluid to cool down egts. I have found that with meth mix up to 50% its a wash when it comes to egt control. In some cases it goes up. If you run your timing below 16. 5 degrees you can get away with a higher percent of mixture. I have ran up to 75/25 mix and have gained 120+ hp.

yup. . now that I got the girls in and running. . after the re-torque all will be well and READY , but still have to trade back the controller and get the digital one with Snows. . I'll do it some time this spring, got a ton going on right now

That new controller should be sweet, I had one to try but had to give it up because of too much down time.

I think I'll wait until I've beefed up the gaskets. I'm pushing the OEM gaskets fairly hard right now. Seems that water/meth might put me into the "leaky head gasket" club.

Wade below are a few threads I found, from my exsperience (very little) and what I have been told never go over 50% mix when I use a 50% mix my egt's droped 250-300 degree's and increased the boost approx 8-10 psi. if you looking for max cooling and less power/boost you should try a 12-15% mix that will give you better cooling then just straight water will. Some of the threads below are older the kit now has great HD Varible controler wich is very nice. Also if you have any question I would post up at the boards on Matt site he is great about getting back to ya.
