I found a water coolled HX-35 turbo. Would this turbo be worth the investment? Also does anybody know where I would the supply and return piping come from for the coolant to the turbo. The guy that has it for sale says this is a better design turbo cause I don't have to wait for it to cool down when I shut down the truck. Also do you know a place or web site that I can find the kit for the piping? And the last question, if it is water cooled do I need to have the water piping or can I just cap them off and operate the truck as normal and let the turbo cool down before I shut it off?

I have had a Garrett stage 3 Powermax water cooled BB on the truck now for 3 yeras and even tho it is water cooled I still idle down as I cannot see the wheel shaft still being able to shed enough heat to not cook coolant and oil when static. Any roller bearing turbo is going to be water cooled. I can think of just a few oil bearing turbos that are watercooled and can't remember if the holset one is roller or not.

The piping on mine is in Here and simply is an inline connection going from the lower radiator hose block assembly to the heater core. Basicly replacing the Pipe you see pictured below.

When you piped this did you lose the use of you heater core? If that is so would it be adviseable to cut the lines and use some t fittings and rubber hoses?

Nope. In fact the heat in the winter comes on faster and HOT!!! The turbo is simply piped "inline" with the heater core. Water flows thru the block then out to the radiator and heter core. Now it flows out to the radiator, turbo THEN heater core.
