Went through the car wash today and notice water dripping from the sunvisor retainer clip on the passenger side.

I felt the headliner around the retainer and it was also wet.

I have clearance lights on the cab. Could one of these be cracked and water is getting in?

It is a significant drip

Other than that, any ideas what could cause this?

It sorta T's me off to see this happen.

BShulte,

When I saw the title first thing that came to my mind was Its a 3500. When first was thinking about ordering a 3500 SRW I was told it was a DOT requirement to have cab clearance lights. I had thought it was a width issue for the duallys only But Now the 06's I believe you can get a 3500 SRW without the clearance lights

Same thing must happen when you are driving in the rain

In your case look for cracked, broken or loose screws or a warped or cracked clearance lights.

Good luck and stay dry, Bill

Yep, mine did it one time last summer. I don't think it's rained here since. I'll take it in some day to have it fixed. Mine was the inboard passenger clip.

Had all five of mine replaced last Nov 05, all five had what I would call stress cracks in them, some worse than others. Never had any problems with water leaks, but could possibly soon if let go. They were replaced under warranty, and it may be a every couple year replacement deal. There cheap enough to do that, because I like the look of clearance lights. All our trucks at work have them, and I have not heard anyone complaining about water leaks.

anyone know the TSB. I am out of the 36k warranty, but I will fight with them. I have had a total of 9 lights replaced in a year. Haven't had a leak for a while though.

Yes, post the TSB number!! I just carry around a tube of clear silicone with me at all times, seeing as how my ****lership couldn't figure out how to fix them !! #@$%!

What is the inboard passenger clip ???

Thanks

The water was leaking through the clip that holds the passenger sun visor in place. The outside clip is the pivot for the visior. The inborad clip holds the visor in place when it is stowed.

Yes!

Please show the tsb to us. I want to review it with my dealer.

I have 50k miles on my truck, and am hoping to not have any problems with the dealership.

I admit that it's not a big deal to replace them myself.

But just the thought of having water dripping inside the cab on a $40k truck is unacceptable.

Maybe I should send the wife to my dealer? :-{} It's her that is getting dripped on.

So you see?

I not only see the drips, I hear about em also!

thanks for all your reply's

I'm going out to the garage and start checking them out
