Isn't Ironic

Sour Gas?

I have noticed that during high winded times that the level of h2o in the bowl tend to fluctuiate. Is this from atmospheric pressure or what ?

I am no plumber but

I think has to do with the vent pipe on the plumbing and the air pressure in the attic moving the toilet water

I'm serrious on this one

believe it or not

I have consistantly noticed it during high wind times and in 2 different locations of the state, sometimes the lv will be up and down a half inch.

where is illflem ? I bet he prolly invented this as old as he is ;)

Well, yes. It depends on which side of the roof the wind is hitting. If the vent pipe is on the lee side, the level in the bowl should go down, as there will be lower pressure at the top of the vent pipe than there is in the house.

If the wind is blowing on the side of the roof that has the vent pipe, the water lever should rise, since the pressure above the pipe is greater than that in the house.

Just my common-sense theory. I could be wrong, though. Earlier this year, I was wrong once.

Asked "Mr. Science" the wind can provide enough suction that water from the bowl is pulled through the horn and spills down the drain. Won't replenish until next flush. Whole new meaning to 'Gone with the Wind". ;)
