Hey all,

'96 CTD, 4X4, 140K. PrimeLoc. Changed the fuel filter and the WIF light now is on. Drained the filter, still on. DISCONNECTED the WIF sensor, still on! what gives? other than a little piece of electrical tape over the light, any suggestions?

thanks,

paul

drain the housing again and spray some brake cleaner on the sensor, if it doesn't go off, sounds to me like a short to ground somewhere, and that would be true since you unplugged the sensor and it was still on.

Since the light is on being unplugged look at the plug and wire in the immediate area. Something is shorted together.

I had a problem with mine also, same as yours.

Mine has two plugs going to housing, they

would short out when I went threw car wash.

I put a silicone sealer around wire and plugs,

alarm gone.

Spray some brake/contact cleaner in the plugs. Mine did the same thing when I washed out the engine bay. Ended up that I had water in the plugs.
