HI ,replaced my fuel filter couple months back and water in fuel light came on. Bought new sender and same problem. Let it go for awhile until light became annoying. When unplugged light would go off. Checked continuity on senser and was getting continuity through the fuel filter. Backed off of sensor and problem solved. Didnt think I had it that tight, must have been touching in side of filter. All is well now with no leaks. Truck is a 1992 d250.

hmm, thats an interesting find. the first time i replaced my fuel filter my light came on and wouldnt go off. i was able to solve the problem much quicker though. snip snip. no more WIF light, i just get out and drain the filter useing the push release on the sensor end, every now and again.

That happened on my buddies 93 W350 after I changed the fuel filter. It must have been touching the can somehow because when I loosened it a bit the light went out and worked OK after that. Shadrach
