Ok I got a dumb question here and Im sure its been posted many times, but when i type this sentence in the search it doesnt work because the word "IN" is too small

I have a 98 24V, auto, 4wd etc...

Today I sprayed the motor down with an engine cleaner and let it soak for about 10 mins. Shortly after I sprayed it down evenly (as the motor was running) to get all the grease/soap mixture off etc. .

Upon doing this, the "water in fuel" light pops up.

Nothing changed or ran any differently but now the light has me worried.

Upon letting the engine dry off completely I noticed a small plug was hanging off what looks to be the lower part of the fuel filter container?

I believe its 2 wires into a single plug. I plugged it back in and nothing happened

just wondering what this plug is or if there is a diagram I can show it off of and what do I need to do to clear this water in the fuel?

thank you

type "water in fuel" and include the quotes, and set the other parameters accordingly. If you change the default "3 months" to "forever" you'll get more answers.

Niro, you probably got water in the "water in fuel" connector you need to spray with wd-40 or dry it out with paper towel/cloth to get water/moisture out of it.

thank you guys for the fast response, just for the hell of it, are there any diagrams or pdf files or something of all the sensor locations and names

Ive spent almost 3-4 years preparing for a diesel and the one I prepared for was the 12v lol

thank you

I don't think there is any one diagram of sensor locations. I will look in my Freightliner's book tomorrow or the next day.

The connector you plugged in near the fuel filter is the one to start with (dry out).
