Water injection ?'s

AS Bart said I have played with a water injection system two years ago and it did drop EGTs towing. My next system will be post turbo. Has anyone ever measured the pressure drop from the turbo side of the intercooler and the intake side. There was a system on the corvair that used turbo pressure to push the water in.

What about propane? I'm told it'll drop EGT.
Anyone consider hydrogen injection??
I saw a hydrogen generator kit somewhere. It was advertised to give more power, inc. fuel mileage(I think they guaranteed 15% inc. ), and lower EGT. This was accomplished using distilled water, and putting an electrical charge to it to produce the hydrogen. If there is any interest, I'll see if I can find the paperwork for this. If memory serves me, it was quite pricey. Over $500. 00 three years ago.

I know on pulling tractors the compression has been lowered to allow them to run high boost and run water injection without lifting the heads off the block. Be careful not to inject too much water and cause too much expansion ( steam) and blow a gasket.

I too agree with you guys, I think this would be very beneficial.

I know I may be coming from left field on this one, but as far as a nozzle has any one thought of an oil burner nozzle to get the proper atomization? They are available in sizes from . 40 gallon/hr to 25+, the ratings are based on 100psi of #2 which is lighter than water, but not much, so the flow should be close to that of oil. They have hollow, semi-solid and solid spray patterns.
They cost about $3. 00 each. They mount in a brass nozzle adapter that has 1/8 IPS thread on the inlet side, and I belive some sort of slip fitting could be devised to seal the adapter so nozzle changes could be done easily. Wadyathink?

I believe the nozzels that Chrger446 is talking about are used on large oil fired (good old #2) steam or hot water boilers.

Oil burner nozzle? Not familiar with one. What are these used on and who would sell one so I can see what it is? An adjustable set-up is what we need for the injection. It could work. The NOS nozzle mentioned earlier would work good if it can be used without nitrous. It has jet change out capability. However, nozzles are about $40 and jets are about $5 a piece.

Yes, they are for residential and commercial oil burners. You should be able to get nozzles and adapters at any plumbing and/or heating supply house. Sid Harveys is a very large chain, as is R. E. Michael.

Are talking about a diesel heating furnace? They kind of look like a natural gas stove from the outside but they burn diesel. Is that the kind?

Guys, I'm talking oil burners here. I guess that #2 fuel oil for home heating is just big up here in the Northeast. Beckett, Carlin, Wayne, Riello all mfg's. of burners.

Home Depot sells them here on Long Island, also try Binks, they make air compressors. We use them at work I'll see what brand and where we by them, we use them to spray water and silicone on newspapers.

I sent an order out to Summit on Tuesday for a K&N 0880 filter, NOS fogger nozzle, #41 jet, and a pressure switch that will turn my water pump on at about 30psi. My stuff arrived today, but it will be about two weeks before I can put the system together. If anyone puts one together before then, let us know how it works. By the way, Summit said it was all right to run water through the fogger nozzle. Guess I'll find out soon.
