I have a 01 with Edge Easy and a j hook on the turbo it is one of the blocks that is said can develop a crack in the water jacket
so I try to keep the temps down both water and exhaust in hope it will maybe keep it from a cracking. I do pull a 6500lb
travel trailer a lot and some times I have to back out of it to keep exhaust temp below 1100*. Will water injection like the Snow or
Banks help enough to make the price worth while. Any input would be very appreciated and helpful

THANK YOU
Carl

I had a 53 block with 360,000 on it before I sold it, I still see it running around and last I knew was approaching 410,000. Not all 53 blocks were affected, if it hasn't given you any problems by now I wouldn't worry about it As long as you don't have plans for making big horsepower.

I don't have any experience with the water/meth inj kits but I would probably look into a slightly larger turbo to decrease temps. You can pick up a used HX35 off a 2nd gen for cheap. Or if you ever plan on adding some mild injectors a HE351cw off a 3rd gen and some basic modifications to the charge air piping could be done for cheap. The HY35's are very restrictive turbos and utilize a small housing for emissions reasons. It's good for quick spooling but they run out of air pretty quick.

Thanks JR that does ease my mind some it is such a great truck I think I baby it to much I will look into those other possible mods too

Thanks again
Carl
