I've searched the former posts, and have done everything but still get a leak in the passenger floor board. I have sealed up my rear window/brake light to no avail. I have removed the passenger seat/carpet and had my neighbor spray high pressure water on the key points (back window/brake light, around door edge, all under the hood) of the truck while I sit inside. it stays bone dry. I checked the A/C, it's not leaking. The only time it seems to leak is when we have a heavy rain. This last time the edges of the carpet under the door trim were soaked and the water had pooled in a small trough on the door side of the floor pan. this would indicate the door gasket to me. But I have removed the plastic door panel and checked the gap. I just don't see where it could be leaking. I sprayed water all around the door gap with a high pressure nozzle, no leaks. Any more ideas? thanks.

...

I found my leak to be the a/c drain. It is located on the firewall on the passenger side and it's a little black tube that sticks out about an inch. If i sprayed water on the outside of that, I found that I was leaking into the passenger floor. I fixed it using plumbers GOOP that I found at the hardware store. I then took a 3/4" piece of tubing about 18 inches long and extended the drain tube. So far no more leaks.

I had the very same problem with my 99 Nissan Altima. What happened was the heavy plastic dust/water shield behind the interior door trim panel had started to come unglued to the inner metal door skin. Water would run down behind the interior door trim panel then pool on the rubber door gasket where it sealed against the door bottom and wick under the door sill cover to the floor carpet. I would reinstall the plastic shield to the black bead of factory sealant however it would come unglued within a few weeks. The fix was sealing the bottom of the plastic water shield to the door inner skin with duck tape.

Finally found leak (all of them)

Well, after months of replacing jute (each time telling myself I had found the final leak source) I have truly found all the leak sources. The back window took two sealings with urethane, the brake light needed a new gasket, and the passenger door needed a new gasket. Let it rain...

It could be the door gasket. I had to pump the U channel full of 3M sealant to stop the driver's side leakage on my '01. The water would get past the top seal and collect in the U channel at the top of the door, run down the channel and dump out inside the pinch weld on the driver's side floor.

I also had a screw missing from the top door to cab seal retainer channel.

A brand new 3rd brake light seal is also a good idea. I had the CHMSL on my 96 sealed w/ dumdum but it was a PITA when a bulb burnt out and I had to clean the mess. The gasket is better.

I also had the middle cab light leak on the '01. That was a quick fix with dumdum around the hole.

I used a great way to check for leaks that was refined by a post on a forum. Seal up the plastic vents in the door jambs with masking tape. Shut all the windows and doors and put the blower on full blast. Coat suspected leak areas with soap solution and look for bubbles. I think kids bubble stuff might work out pretty well too. Obviously you don't want to put sudzy water on there because it would mask the bubbles you want to see.
