I was hoping someone might be able to help me out with some suggestions regarding water getting into my 96 3500 4x4 club cab. Floor is wet in front on both sides and so far i have not been able to find where the water leaks in. Is it possible its from the rear window maybe . Does seem to be wet to the rear when i jam my hand down into the dark recesses but water may be from the front. Dont think the water comes in from the top of the doors as i did a hose/leak test.

Windsheild has been in for 6/7 years so i am not positive it's from there. Problem has been happening for about a year.

Any suggestions to help narrow it down.

Thanks in advance for the help. K. L. S.

I had my cab lights leaking a little one time. If I allowed snow to sit in abundance on top for a few days and melt it would make it's way in from around the overhead comp. Not much at all but a drip or two.

On my 96' the leaks were so bad I removed the seats and carpet. Had the wife use low pressure water from the hose on the outside. The rear window had multiple leaks. The front window was also leaking. On the front windshield the leaks were on the sides. I slightly lifted the rubber gasket alongside the windshield. Inserted some gasket/rtv stuff designed for window install. Did the same along the top of the rear window gasket. My third brake light didn't leak. Later testing -no leaks. I also installed lots of noise/heat insulation while the interior was out. The carpet was also steam cleaned and given time to dry. The truck stayed dry until I sold it. The interior/seats didn't take long to remove.

So the leak appears to be from the third brake light. Made a new seal for it and months later it seems to be ok. Truck took awile to dry out completely.

Water started leaking into cab again. Extra heavy rain recently. So I pulled 3 rd brake light and sealed with marine grade silicon. Guess I will see if that stops it.
