03/04 Injectors, Who's runnin 'em, Recommendations?

Are you guys serious about getting 60 hp out of a $400 system?

I'm hoping to get that much out of $3500 worth of twins. Is it hard on the motor like nitrous oxide?

RonA

Those numbers are correct. I would think that its no were near as hard on a motor as nitrous is. Since at most its a 50% 50% mix of water and methanol i would say that its a lot safer. I am sure a lot of guys here could tell you more about the differences but from what i have read it seems pretty safe.

Trey

Any performance accessory is hard on a vehicle, and shortens engine life.

The trick is to be smart about the application.

The W/I system if used correctly will cause minimal strain on the engine. Keep your mix of water to methanol at or below 50/50 (you never want more methanol than water) and tune the kit for your truck.

The Water/Methanol hit when it comes on is not a violent one like N2O is as it will never make those kind of Cyl pressures, if you watch the Video's of my dyno runs you will see that it is more like a transition like a charger spooling up.

If someone wanted to run just water for the purpose of EGT reduction, what kind of results would be reasonable to expect?

Thanks,

Mike

What's a good timing setting when using this kit? I asked Matt about this is and he said be conservative. I was looking for a more exact number but don't want to keep bugging him. I have a 98 12-valve, with BHAF, #10 plate, 370 injectors and am getting the stage II h20/meth kit. I have the stock timing now but was going to go up to about 15. 5 degrees before I decided to get in this group buy. Is 15. 5 going to be too high with this kit? I don't want to have to o-ring. Thanks.

Sorry, I didn't ask my question so that everyone understood what I meant. What kind of EGT reduction would be reasonable to expect if I run just water?

Sorry for the confusion,

Mike

I just got off the phone with Matt about an hour ago. I was #5 but he said he had 4 or 5 other calls to return. He called me back about 15 min. later and said the should ship out about the 23rd :D

Greg

Mike you should still see about the same EGT reduction with just water, but I have money that says you won't run JUST water.

B Watson, 15-16 degrees should be fine for timing.

Now that you darn bomb-a-holics have talked me into another gadget to take up space under my hood, I have a question. Do I run windshield washer fluid through this or do I need to buy methanol and mix it with distilled water. Or does Jose Cuervo work better in those heche en mexico Cummins motors.

RonA

My mistake. The old cam is stamped Brazil not Mexico. Oh well windshield washer fluid is a little cheaper than Cuervo Gold,(probably tastes better too). I've got to be carefull I'm at the torque limit of the con ofe now. Twins and windex might put me over the top.

Well i talked to Matt again today and he said that we made it past 6 so he will be able to ship out on the 22nd. He is still waiting on the variable controllers but as soon as he gets them he will send out. I will be no later than the 22nd. He wanted me to remind anyone else who was interested in this kit that they would need to order by Friday at 5pm MST. They will be closed over the weekend so basically Friday is the last day. I am glad we were all able to get in on this deal. It always good when we have vendors willing to help out TDR members.
