Has anyone tried any W/M injection companies other than Snow Performance?

I was thinking about going with the Devil's Own kit.

I also found Engine Runup and Cooling Mist, but I like the compact package of the Devil's Own.

Are there any others out there?

Thanks,

Will

I hadnt seen them before, the price looks pretty reasonable. I was looking into a snow perfomance stage 3 kit. The stage 3 is allot of coin though, especially compared to a kit from this place (granted the stage 3 is considerable better).

I went with the Snow Performance kit because others were already familiar with it. Members such as Jim Fulmer had experience with it and figured out the good and bad. It's not necessarily easy to determine how much is too much or wonder if you can get away with a little more. The Snow Kit is/was already figured out for our trucks, especially the variable controller. This was worth something to me since I hate being the guinea pig. Then again, it's good to think outside the box and try something new so all the power too ya! I guess it could be just a matter of matching up the flow rates vs. boost pressure with the snow kit and going from there.

Good luck, keep us posted if you try something new.

Worth bookmarking, that's for sure. I kinda like the look of the deluxe base kit for $265!

It looks like you have almost the same setup as me woodenhead, how did you like the gains you got from the snow kit?

Here's a link to a post with a Dyno Comparison on my setup post . This is with the pump at 100psi, it's capable of 200psi. Apparently at 200psi it'd be good for 60-70 instead of the 30 I got. I'm hesitant to push it that far since I'm still nursing the stock head gasket. When I'm towing and climbing hills I just run straight water and when my EGT's get close to 1100-1200 I turn on the pump and watch em drop back down to around 1000.

I've been running Snow's stuff for over 2 years now. I started with my own setup then moved over to Matt's when I found out about him. Yes I still do R&D and make slight changes here and there, like today I moved up to 4 nozzles to get more fluid as the 220 psi pump(yes I check it too) is bucking up against 85 psi of boost so the flow will be down some. It's sick that it runs as hard as it does at 1600 degrees and by the time it's there your at rotation speed :D

i've been running the stage 3 setup from snow for about a month now. and it doesn't cool my egt's down at all. i run 2-625 nozzles and the pump wide open. all it does is slow my egt's down but does not drop 200 degrees. in the instructions when it says hard stop Jim did yours stop or go click, because mine went click when i went to turn up the pump. not sure if i stripped the allen screw out or not?

Andy, what I'm hearing you say is typical of not enough water, having said that it sounds like your pump is turned down too much. Check and make sure that screw is turned in all the way, yes you can strip it out as it is a metal screw in a plastic housing. Typically I run the pump wide open then turn it down if it is too much and blowing the fire out (popping) during a run!

If anyone is running allot of boost you have to figure that in too, if your running a pump at full pressure and making 40 psi with two nozzles, then your buddy has the same setup running 80 psi who is shooting more water. That is the reason why I went to 3 nozzles and now trying 4, but #3 or #3/4 depending on configuration come on after 50 psi so it's not so much at one time. The 4th nozzle changed the tone of the motor so it's close to too much.

Jim

jim,

the screw is turned in all the way, but it never hard stoped. i only used one finger to run the screw in then it went click. so stupid me kept going till it went click again. could i just run a bigger allen screw in to push on the one thats in there?

One thing you could always do is rig a tee fitting inline and short the pump to power while the nozzle/s are shotting into a bucket. I did this last night with (1) nozzle and the pump wrapped the pressure back to zero on a 160 psi guage.

Jim

jim,

just a heads up i talked to the people at snow's and they told me to take the head unit on my pump apart and make sure the spring was in place. i did and i put in a longer set screw per there instructions. still 70 psi open circut. its like talking to a brick wall over there :-{}

Silly question, but are you turning it the wrong way? All the way out is max pressure on mine.

That's odd, all the way in is suppose to be max, or it was testing mine last night.

Andy, I'll talk to Matt today and ask him as I found out what failed on the dyno runs, it may have been self induced... ... to many nozzles, to little pump, might have to go to 2 pumps.

Jim

I'm not positive. Just going off memory and I could swear all the way out was max on mine. Been a while since I messed with it.
