I used my 99 2500 today for the first time in 8 weeks. The truck sits in the driveway exposed to all kinds of weather, which lately has been a lot of rain. The drivers side carpet was saturated with water. I spent the afternoon removing the seats and console so that I could remove my soggy carpet. The majority of the water was around the drivers feet area, there was no water in the back area under the sliding rear window so I think the leak could be near the cowl area. Is there a drain around the cowl that could be plugged causing water to enter the cab? The door seal seems tight and the window was completly closed. I am open for any advise. Thanks , Charlie.

Charlie check the third brake light gasket mine did the same thing then I replaced the gasket cost around 11 bucks from dodge also check around the rear sliding window seals my drain holes outside of window were stopped up and it would cause water to back up into the rear window slide channels and drip to the rear coner of the cab then it would run to the front of the cab at the drivers feet hope this helps

Also, if you have clearance lights, they're a known leak point in our trucks.

Around the windshield is another place I've heard of leaks.

Good luck,

John L.

I ordered a new gasket for 3rd brake light today. Tried to get new gaskets for cab lights but dealer claims they are only available with the lenses at $27. 00 each. I think I will try a small bead of silicone on the gasket of each marker light and tighten them real good. I will keep you posted. Thanks, Charlie.

Put new third brake light gasket in and used silicone on the cab lights. Also blew out the drains for the sliding rear window. Had real heavey rain last night and the inside is dry. I am going to say that the problem was the third brake light. Put the truck back together today. Thanks everyone for the tips, Charlie.

We had wet carpet in our '97, I fixed it by replacing the door gasket, takes a few minutes to work it in and I used some silicone sealer to recreate the metal to seal bond the the original had. No more leak.
