Hello. I have a 1998.5, 24Valve, 3500, 4WD. Water pump was leaking, so, ordered a new one. While I am in there, decided to replace the belt, upper and lower radiator hose, plus ordered new intercooler boots and clamps from BD diesel. While I was in there, pulled the radiator, sent it off to be cleaned. It had been in there since new, along with the water pump and radiator hoses.
I had to remove the positive side battery terminals to gain access to the radiator. Put everything back together three days later, batteries disconnected the whole time.
Fill the radiator up with fluid, hook the positive terminals up, start the truck, no leaks. Yeah!
Topped off fluid, took truck for a drive.
Now the fun starts; No speedometer working, no odometer working(yes, I know..) Parking brake light on all the time when truck is running. No fuel gauge indication and yes, the low fuel light is on also.
Disconnected the positives again, reconnected, same indications.
I have started and stopped the truck over 10 times. I do not have access to a fault reader unless I take to my transmission shop. This has to be a wire issue as I was driving home and the speedo came on very briefly, then back off again.
Is there a reset procedure I am not aware of?
Thanks in advance. Kenny.
