Water Pump Replacement

I just had the water pump start to leak and needed replaced at 48,000 this is my fourth diesel and the first time to replace a water pump. Is this a weak spot on the 6. 7 or just one of things that happens? Anyone out there experience the same problem?

Our 08 5500 now has over 115K and going strong... I've not read of a waterpump on a 6. 7... .

My 6. 7 lost the waterpump at 60k, the garage, not the dealership where i take all of my trucks has had several in for the same, my truck lost the pump right when they were about to go broke and there was not a pump in texas to buy to replace it so had to get one from a carquest dealer who i believe got it from out of state, i highly suspect there was a rash of bad pumps they are covering up as usual!!
