Mike, that was a 1st class investigation and backup with nothing other than a TDR thanks as a paycheck for your getting over the flu helping hand.
Best regards,
Gary
Plus +1 to that.
So as I go forward with fear in mind that my lemon will again crap somewhere at the most inopportune time, given the many failures already experienced (see previous posts) I am now wondering just what all I should prepare for or right out just do.
240+k on the rig and from what all I have been reading here of member horrors with far less miles than mine, I'm gun shy as hell now to take my rig out beyond my daily sphere. Basically up and down the I-5 from home to the greater Puget sound and back e. g 200 miles RT. .
Adjustments, injectors, belts, hoses, trans BS, pumps, frame and suspension components and the lists goes on and on. .
Today, I'm changing the serpentine belt but for tomorrow and beyond ???
As much as I've been yammering on about what a POS lemon my April-05 is (only because I got to 476K in 10years on my GMC before it puked), I do feel pretty fortunate to have gotten almost to April-12 with next to no serious driveability problems compared to so many others here with far less miles and age.
Should I contribute it to all the maintenance and many $$ spent doing so or, just plain dumb luck ??
That being said, TDR and its many members is probably the single most invaluable source for us Cummin's dudes anywhere. .
Thank you all again for sharing the horrors and the how to fix's better than the OEM's. .
