Water pump

How long do these pump last? Have 180,000 on my 92 and still on original pump with no indication of a problem. Going cross country in two weeks and wondering if I should replace pump-just out of gratitude.

I've heard them last a million miles on original water pump. If it isn't weeping, I'd say you're fine.

I agree, buy one if your concerned and take it with you, but it probably won't be a problem. The belt on and off is the hardest part of the whole job!

The pump in my last truck started weeping around 250k... It took longer to drain the anti-freeze than to change the actual pump, two bolts and no gasket (o-ring). I believe it took six minutes once the coolant was drained.

I do agree with BGilbert, if it's not weeping don't worry about it.
