Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) water pump

Standing facing the motor does the water pump turn cw or ccw?

Jeff, the water pump turns ccw on my truck. The fan direction is the key. It will turn so that air is forced from the front of the radiator to the back. Based on that and the way the belt needs to go in order to turn the fan that way, the pump direction can be determined since it's next to the fan pulley.

I guess they all turn in the ccw direction, mine does. The reason I ask is because I had to change mine out yesterday (172K miles) and if you look at the way the impellers are positioned it looks like the pump would work better if it turned in the cw direction. Another reason I was kinda unsure is because the decal that shows the belt routing is faded out. I checked the picture on Fritz's web page anb my belt is routed like the picture of the one with A/C. Thanks for the input.
