Centrifuge spins at high speed the oil is fed in to the middle of the drum.
The drum will hold some oil that will never be able to be processed the heaver stuff in the oil, chicken parts, sluge, water anything heaver wiil be forced deeper in to the oil that is spinning. the oil that is clean at this point will flow over the edge of the spinning drum and will fly to the stop wall of the centrifuge this is the outer wall and it is collected from there.
The drum needs to be cleaned this depends on how dirty the oil is. The one they have has holes in it.
The only thing about this that might be a little scary is the fact that if you are spinning say 4 lbs of oil and the drum its alum so thats good at the speed of the motor thats 1750 or 3450 rpms the force of this is high. The maker says that it is 1000 times more than gravity. so 4 lbs turns in to 4000 lbs and so on. this is not something you want to take lighty. (no pun intended) :-laf
As far as doing 50 Gallons this can be pumped in to the Centrifuge or gravity flowed in to it the later makes more sence to me using a 55 gallon drum and a ball valve to only flow in say 5 gallons per hr taking 10 hrs to clean 50 gallons of oil. I am sure it can be done faster but remember safety first. Thinking about this overlunch maybe two of them side by side might just be the right thing to have.
just make sure you have a holding tank for the oil you are about clean !!!!!!!
