I have spent hours scanning thru my 99 service manual and I can't find anywhere in the manual of the location of the sending unit for the water temp. gauge. My gauge doesnt register at all. I performed a self diagnostic on the instrument cluster and the gauges all pass, including the water temp. So It must be the sending unit (or sensor). Is the coolant temp. sensor (for PCM) the same as for the gauge; or is there a separate one. I can't find an answer in the forums here or in my expensive 99 manual. In the chyltons book they elude to a sensor on the driver side rear of the block. Any answers?

Man am I confused! To make matters worse I found out that My 1999 Truck is really a 2000 by parts standards. Wow. So my manual is not accurate. Thanks for any help out there is diesel TDR world. Chris
