How to tell which year is which?

One more question, wheres the sending unit for the water temp and can I put a tee in it?

It is located near the very rear of the cylinder head on the drivers side. It only has a single wire going to it. I wouldn't put a tee on it because it would end up at least a little distance out of the stream of coolant. There may be some pipe plug on the head for an additional coolant temp sensor. Drilling and tapping the thermostat housing might work or maybe Cummins sells one that has a sensor hole in it.

There's a plug in the front of the head near the thermo housing thats perfect for another sending unit. I put one in and a gage that rads in 'real' numbers. Works great.
