 :(

Have water under the floor mats. Know there is a thread somewhere about leaks in the cab but can't put my curser on it. Please point me in the right direction.

Don't know where the old thresds are but I just got finished chasing leaks in my 93. Had water standing on the drivers side and almost as bad on the passenger side. Took a hose to the cowl and found water pouring in at the drivers side kick panel vent. The old foam gasket was not sealing. Took the whole thing apart, removed the sliding vent, made a new 1/8" thick PVC cover to replace the sliding vent door and sealed it shut with Silicone sealant.

That fixed ONE of the leaks. On the passenger side, I removed the kick panel and found a rubber plug about 1 1/2" diameter that had fallen out of the inside kick panel area. water was running in here. Sealed this shut with sealant.

Then it rained and I found more water in the floor. This turned out to be the rear cargo light seal. Water was pouring in at this area, running along the top of the window to the drivers side( truck was on a slight slope that direction) and on the under side of the carpet to the front floor area. Resealed this and the leaks all stopped except for a very small one at the passenger door gasket.

These leaks can be a royal PITA to find. The above locations were discussed in one of the previous threads so I hope this also helps you.

The fresh air vent and the heater assembly both have a area where the air is brought in from the cowl area, both have a built in drain. Now both sides did what paccool said and filed the foot area with water and did rust/thin the floor in my truck out. If you open your doors and look through the jam toward both these vent area there is a small crack in the bottoms to let the water run out, if plugged then it floods everything. There is an approx 1. 5" area between bottom of outside vent area and the vent itself. Mine were super plugged with leaves, a bird nest, a glove, and those helicopter seed things. I just stuck a screwdriver in there and opened it up a bit, and flused it out. If you leave them plugged it would hold the water and rust it out, as well as flow into the area where the floor meets the kickpanel area and rust it out also. BTW I know as I just fixed the floor! And the insulation was rusted into the floor. No insulation going back in only rubber.

Someone also said the cowl cracks can also leak onto the floor, I havent checked mine yet.

Wet floors...

Some good information was posted on 1/22,23/03 regarding leaks. I re-sealed around the outside of the front windshield and that helped for the the front floors. But, there still a small amount of water coming in somewhere that gets on the floors. I got the left kick panel unscrewed and pulled on it but, don't do it or you'll break a small tab at the bottom of the fresh air vent. My biggest problem is water in the right-hand rear corner of the cab, it just fills up, and runs to the front.

:p  :)

Thanks, after last night's rain went out, looked and touched areas near the driver's side vent and notice a wet spot oin the carpet below the vent. And thanks to your posting, I now have a good idea about the method of attach. I know that some water is coming in the door so will have a friend adjust and may need a new gasket. Thanks again
