Lead Paint - What Applications Used It?

I am trying to plan a business trip and I have to fly from Hartford, Ct to Moline, Ill. Then drive to Waterloo IA for a meeting.

Then fly to Indianapolis for another the next day, then fly home.

I'll be with another guy who doesn't mind sharing the driving, so I'm wondering if it would be worth just driving from Waterloo to Indy. Yahoo maps says 550 miles plus and about 8 hours but they route it thru Chicago. Looks like there's a more direct route so that would shave some time off.

Flying looks like about 7 hours total including all the waiting around in the airport. I'd rather see some countryside than stand around in an airport waiting.

Anybody have an idea what that trip will really take?

Thanks in advance.

Jay

Jay, not much country to see after you leave Iowa because Il is flat and boring all the way to Indianapolis. I would guess 6 hours would get you from A to B. Have fun!

i dunno, indiana is pretty imho, just as long as you stay away from them danged ol' metro areas.

Holy-cow Man!!!

I have been DREAMING of a trip out there!! I hauled a Model A tractor out there years ago back in 90. I have to get back there Oo.

Jay,

Takes me about 4. 5-5hrs to get to Indy, and about 1. 5-2 hrs to Waterloo from home.

I'd come down I-380 to I-80. I-80 to I-74, all way to Indy. Stay out of Chicago. Going to Chi-town might be shorter mileage-wise (doubt it though), but you'll pay for it time-wise. Usually a mess.

Let me know when you are coming though. If you have time, and if I'm home, you'll be driving within 10 miles of me. Maybe meet up for coffee or something. :)

I would fly myself. Chicago sucks for traffic. Indiana is like FLorida. . South Texas. Same scenery over and over mile after mile. Have fun not matter which way you take.

Thanks to all for the comments.

Right now it looks like we are going to make the drive... . easier to schedule and the time from A to B is about the same.

Probably will be driving from Indy to Waterloo on the 27th and fly home from Moline on the 28th

bmoeller sounds good if it can work. PM me with your address and phone number and we can see how it goes. If it's dinner time it's on me... . well you all know what I mean by that. ;)

I really like to take a moment and say something off the wall now, but I think I'll obstain... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... 4-now ;)

BTW

Jay REALLY REALLY loves hazelnut coffee.

Jay,

Don't you have MAP QUEST over there in CT? LOL :p

I will second the route of 380 to 80 to 74. Easy to navigate and the traffic isn't too bad on 74, except from Peoria to the Bloomington/Normal area.
