Anyone know a good way to get this off. Whenever I wax my truck I always end up with a little on the plastic trim. When it dries it really stands out. And dont tell me to tape it off before waxing as I plan to do that from now on. Just need get the existing dried wax off.

Thanks

They make some stuff called "back to black", I think the last I bought was Mothers brand, it works pretty good.

Try this cause it works peanut butterget you a jar of smooth peanut butter and rub some on with a tooth bruch then wipe it off and its gone. Theres other things out there that will take it off or cover it up but you can always eat some of this too if you get hungry. :D

And if you use a good wax it want stain the trim, etc. I use Klasse easy on and easy off.

What do y'all clean your windows with, grape jelly!! :-laf Oo. :-laf Oo. :-laf Oo.

I use acetone and a rag. It cleans up nicely for me. Try it on other similar problems like after waxing an oxided surface and not being able to get all the wax off, boats where the wax won't come off, etc.

This question was ask last year also an someone suggested using a pencil eraser on the black trim to get the wax residue off. I tried it, and it works, simple an no mess. Have'nt tried the PB yet, really don't won't to waste it, it goes quick around my house.

mmmm peanut butter... ...

Put a little Armorall or something like it (BlackMagic) on a rag and wipe the plastic. Save the peanut butter for lunch.

Was taught this by my Dodge dealer right after buying the truck. Use a pencil eraser on the wax area. Just simply erase it! Works great but sure will work over an eraser in short order! Tried a pen eraser because it is harder. Didn't work as well. You can eat the pencil eraser as well, but I doubt you'll like it as much as the peanut butter :p

I`ll try the eraser

No offense to the peanut butter buddies but If I use that my dogs will be licking my truck. They love peanut butter and when I get the jar they go nuts. The last thing I want to do is to kill my dog because he jumped on my hood to lick that plastic part between your hood and front window.

I`m a newbie on here, what does ROTFLMAO mean?

All right guys, while the fun stuff might work too ( I just dont want the squirrels knawing at my molding ) , as I wax I keep on hand an armor all or back to black laiden rag. While your going around buffing off the wax, when you find it on your black trim , it - rubs - right off with the laiden rag ( takes a little finger pressure ). It also helps to use a spong, spray the armor all on the spong, lightly coat the trim before you wax.

I use the meguiars paint cleaner from the three step 'liquid crystal' series I believe it's called. Just a tiny bit on a paper towel and the stuff wipes right off.

PS peanut butter isn't poisonous to dogs, just chocolate...
