Yeah that is a bit pricey. Maybe 9-11 would be better. That's still pushing it though. Sweet ride none the less. I wish he would've gotten some engine bay pictures.

Interesting looking mirrors. Kinda like California Mirrors, but the power mirror lower mounts.

I have a hard time spending within $5000 of new price for a truck that is almost 20 years old. I really don't understand why a first gen brings more money then a 2nd gen does when for sale. I know why I like first gens, but really, why higher price then a second gen?

The response I got from a chain-smoking used car salesman at the edge of the lot when I respectfully questioned the excessive pricing of an older, pristine truck:

"There's a butt for every seat".

For the mileage, maintainable, options, and condition, that is not that far off.

Have to remember fewer clean 1st gens are out there. Also these trucks are no longer just considered used trucks. They have slowly been changing segments in the last few years. Believe it or not these trucks are going into the truck version of collector vehicles. And that does drive prices up. I have been watching this over the last 3 years or so making the biggest jumps.

I say if I sells for $14,000 it's about bang on.

EDIT: Man I hate those mirrors though!

There's 2nd gens in my area going for $21-$25k with over 140k miles. Every now and then a first gen will pop up, if it's halfway decent it's over $10k no questions. He's listed it for $15k, i'll bet the sale price in his head is $12k.

The inflated value of these trucks have gone from ridiculous to comical. I look everyday just to keep an eye on what's out there, and now I just laugh. Dealer financing isn't helping matters any either. Somewhere in the last 10 years people have forgotten that you don't get every dollar you put into cars and trucks back when you sell them. I saw a 4 door dart the other day, slant 6 car, for 7 freaking thousand dollars. It's comical.

Well I would never pay that much for a first gen. My dad has a '90 dually five speed he bought new. My 95 that I bought new is hands down a much more comfortable truck. But with that said, I would much rather work on and maintain any 12 valve than a 24 valve or newer truck, not to mention the fuel economy of the older trucks. Here in California, the holy grail (12v '98) has been ruined by smog checks so now 97 an older 12 valves seem to have gone up.

Well thats the issue. In the collector car world people buy out of emotion, not logic.

And thats where these trucks are now getting to... .....

At that price you think it was in Western Canada :-laf Shad

:-laf So true. They are at least $5k more out there than here!

But the bodies are better with less salt.....

Thanks! The paint was rough at the beginning but it cleaned up well!
Those lines you're referring to are for the exhaust brake. The Pacbrake was installed by the previous owner, he had also installed the Banks PowerPack system which included a few nice goodies.

I had to redo a leaking main seal and found out that the drive-train was a was installed by hacks. Rebuilt the rear-end, drive line, NV4500, and GV; luckily GV was down the road and was a big help. Wow what a difference a clean install makes!!! :)

Huh!? You just lost me. Those big 1/2" buses are for the exhaust brake!?:confused:

What the heck is being fed to it, beer out of a keg? :-laf

Wow. Nice truck... . It's probably bring close to that here in Texas, too. People are looking at it as an investment. They know these trucks are realtively trouble free compared to new ones, so they bring a premium, and they know they will last a long time. I've had several people in the last year that had a lot of problems with their new Dodge buy these older 12v trucks for their business, after experimenting with "other" brands and newer Dodges... . They're known for thier fuel mileage and reliability. And these people do beat the snot out of 'em..... Not worth much when they get done with 'em... .

(Happy, now, Schwarzli!??!?! :-laf Most of my morning has gone like that..... I wonder if I should open my bills and check what's in each envelope... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... naaaaaaaaaaa)

I paid $10k for mine but worth the NV4500, Gearvendor, and Banks package installed. The only problem was I had to fix the hack job installations.

1992 Dodge Diesel D350

That's nice, too..... I'd like to see some more pics. Love lookin' at these old trucks. Good luck with the gear vendor!! I see why you wanted it with the 4. 10 gears, but I've had hell with mine... I drain glitter out of 'em every time I change the oil!! I've tried 5-6 different oils, and it still has issues.....

That's much better HH! :-laf

Rookies..... ;)

My GV is the same. When dad ordered it new, he always had glitter. Then he sold it to a buddy. Always had glitter. Now in my 1990 with another 40k miles on it and one guess? ;)

GV says this is normal. I have asked on several occasions. ;)
