Big stink

Lets all make a big stink over what should have been done a long time ago. It should have been done back when he said it was at end. And he should have done it in the open and stayed awhile to look at the mess he is making. Same ole, same ole.

Another four from Bush and we will all be unemployed and looking forward to a tour in Iraq. :D

You amaze me CF. Your hatred for Bush is so blatent I don't think it would matter what he did you would find a way to shoot it down. Even if he was able to abolish the national debt completely, put a check in every US citizens mailbox for $100,000, bring peace to the entire world, and be able to retire our military - you would somehow find something wrong with how he did it, blah, blah, blah. As much as I disliked the Clinton years I was never as miserable as you must be. I truly feel sorry for you.

Maybe you haven't been watching the news but the economy is recovering. Here's some articles on it from one of the left leaning news organizations:

Jobless claims hit 33-month low - New unemployment claims slide to lowest level since January 2001 as job market recovery continues.

Consumer sentiment up in November - The University of Michigan says improving jobs market, better stock returns boost confidence.

OECD: U. S. economy to grow 4. 2% - Organization eyes speedy growth in 2004 after U. S. report shows highest GDP rate in 20 years.

Those are the top 3 headlines on CNN's webpage for economy, btw.

How about these?

Midwest business picks up - Chicago purchasing managers index accelerates further, hitting nine-year high.

U. S. economic growth revised up - GDP grew at a blistering 8. 2 percent pace in the third quarter, faster than originally thought.

Consumer confidence jumps - Closely watched measure of consumer sentiment surges more than expected in November.

GDP growth to hit 20-year high - Business economists see U. S. GDP growing 4. 5% next year, the strongest increase since 1984.

Of course you'll probably say that CNN is covering for Bush now too and that it's all a part of the vast right wing conspiracy. I'm glad that I don't have to live in your fantasy world.

On the topic at hand - Way to go President Bush! We're proud of you (most of us anyways). Oo.

Dean for President! ROFLMAO

Judging by the Democratic "hopefuls" trying to run for president I don't think Bush has much to worry about. That's all they're going to amount to. . . "hopefuls" or "wannabes"

When it comes to comedy, it's pretty tough to top a Democratic presidential debate! :-laf :-laf :-laf

But would it be beyond ourselves to consider the possibility that he really cares about our troops and he had no political motivation behind his visit to Iraq?

For some, yes.

I am beginning to think that there are some people that think EVERYTHING is a conspiracy of some sort or another. No one takes anything at face value anymore.

Probably because we are so used to our government lying to us all the time.

Sometimes you have to go with your gut instinct. In this case, it is telling me that it was purely a morale booster and done because the president really does care about the men and women he sends into harms way.

Imagine, a president with a conscience. Wow.

Steve.

Hey CF!

As the starter of this thread I ask you to please take your extreme negativity and hatred toward our President and start your own thread! And please know that...

I WILL NOT READ IT!!!

BTW, if you don't like having Bush as President then run against him yourself! Or move to France or Iraq if you don't like the way things are being refocused in this country!! For the first time in a long time, as amply pointed out by Steve, this country is headed upward, mainly, I believe, because there is someone in the White House we can trust!!! Ever hear of the trickle down theory? It applies to things other than just economics!

Respectfully, Trent

Way to go GW

The president of the United States can fly into Baghdad and celebrate Thanksgiving with hundreds of troops  If this was a political stunt or photo-op as many on the left protest, why were the media specifically EXCLUDED. This president is a good man AND he has a set... ... . that makes the left shriek. GO GW. Jim G.

Mr. President

I am active duty Navy, looking to retire in a year from now. I know firsthand what the Navy was like during the Clinton years. AND I also know what a difference in morale it has made to have a Commander in Chief that actually gives a S*** instead of treating us like second class citizens. Seeing Clinton (Note I didnt say "president") lay the wreath on the tomb of the unknowns was the epitomy of hipocrasy. I wanted to puke every time I saw it on CNN as it made me physically ill. Also... . look very closely at the Marine as he salutes the president climbing down the steps of Marine One. You will see that Marine hold his salute well after the President has walked away. And President Bush returns that salute even though he isn't required to. When Clinton debarked, it was a very quick and almost forced salute with no return. That says something. I'll get off this box fer now. BTW... did you know that the Clintons barred active duty military from the west wing of the whitehouse for fear of being seen or associated with them? Almost like they were too embarrased to be in the same part af the same buiding with them. What does that tell you? OK, I'll let off fer real now :)

Attitudes like yours are what makes this country look more like a dictatorship daily.

You have no frigging right to even suggest that a person who has an opinion that differs from your own to post elsewhere.

The name redbadge says it all for me...

You see?

You have to realize that just as you could not stand the sight of Clinton, I cannot stand the sight of Bush. He boogie in and out of Iraq only reaffirms my thinking of someone who is lacking of any bravery. Even Hillary has more fortitude than him, she spent a few days in Afghanistan, and she is still in Iraq.

I stand by my first statement. He should have done this months ago, and it should be a little more than a few three hours long. I am glad he finally got around to the people he is asking to give their lives for his private war game. However, to little, too late to impress me.

As far as I know this is still a free country, despite Bush. :D

I think that the country won't miss Hillary for the days that she is gone. Bush has my vote in '04.

CF no offense but out of all your post you are the last one to be speaking of bravery. If President Bush had put on a kevlar and picked up an M-16 to go help fight off an ambush, there is no doubt in my mind you would say " Boy that guy knows how to campaign! sure is a coward though!

How do you all forget so fast? What would you guys be saying if we did nothing and got attacked at least a few more times over the last few years? The military should be disbanded because good people are wasting their lives protecting a bunch of idiots. Those idiots can live under a rule of Saddam or any other person and I will be glad to hear them crying in misery the rest of their loves. Don't tell me it's Bush either or I'll really get ticked and tell you how good ol Bill sent us into Somalia to have our butts handed to us without the support we needed and let our dead get dragged thru the streets. You can bet he never would have showed up (and didnt) but thats besides the point.

Illflem, tsk tsk. I know CF and you have the same views as I have read over the years. I am glad you two are the minority because I know for a fact that things would be out of hand. BTW the tsk tsk is for you even insinuating someone is a communist, some others come alot closer by not supporting there country. OK I'm sure you can tell I am a little hot and don't think I can stand watching the true yellow complain anymore about losing the rights they don't even deserve. ( I can say yellow if Illflem said red can't I?) :-{}:-{} :-{} :-{}

For your enlightenment illflem...

the badge on my Dodge that says Cummins Turbo Diesel is

RED!!!

I find it troubling that a person can't celebrate and share with others something seen as good without having those who see the same thing as bad raining on the parade.

Sure, this is a free country. Sure, you are allowed to post here just as I am. And, I reiterate, you are free to start a thread about your perception of events. And I am free to not participate in your thread.

The practicing of Democracy...

After 19 years of serving my country, I am finding myself appreciating (although not neccessarily agreeing with) people with different opinions and views. Everyone has one, everyone has the right to one, and everyone voices them. This is (practicing Democracy) what makes our country great. Any person that has traveled the world easily sees just how good we have it here in the USA. It is also why so many people in the world have so much disdain for our way of life. All in all, as I don't practice Democracy, just protect it, I appreciate and like to hear different views. As long as all it is is just an opinion or belief and it isn't forced on anyone else (IE Taliban, Saddam, even some cultures like Saudi Arabia has), then all will be ok. As long as we respect each others views and don't try to force them on each other then we all are practicing Democracy.

I have but one response to those who hate him;

Thank God we have Bush in the White house now instead of Gore!!!!!

When I saw the photos of him in Iraq, I felt like getting up and salutting, and I have not been in uniform for 46 years.

And its nice to feel GREAT confidence he will be re-elected.

Question for those who don't like Bush?

Surely you have a right to not like our president. Thing is, I am kind of vague on a president that you did like. Maybe I missed something. Was there one?

Whether it was politically motivated or not I vote for Bush!

I don't think he is the best Prez we have ever had but I think he is the closest thing to a real person we have ever had. Some of the things that he does reflects his advisors opinions but not before he thinks it is best for the US citizens.

Now I hope he works on building industry and keeping jobs in the US.

I don't like the President's policies, and I don't think we should've gone into Iraq under the excuses the Administration came up with. That said, I think going to Baghdad was a good move by the Commander in Chief. OF COURSE it was a political move, I don't know how you could construe it any other way - but it was the right thing to do.

This is funny.

I had to laugh when I read the CF post that Hillery spent a few days in Afganistan and is still in Iraq. She must not be in any real danger. It says a lot when the enemy doesnt want to kill you. I guess she is with her friends over there.
