I had a few Internet Explorers going at once, with one open on each forum. I accidentally posted something (titled "this oughta p--- you off!) on the General Diesel Topics forum instead of the Other forum. When I tried to delete it, I got this error message:

You are not logged in or you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. You are not logged in. Fill in the form at the bottom of this page and try again.

2. You do not have permission to access the page that you were trying to. Are you trying to edit someone else's post or trying to access administrative features? Check that you are allowed to perform this action in the Forum Rules.

3. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Well, I am logged in, and besides that, on the page that came up with the above message, there is no place at the bottom of the page to log in, anyway. I could have sworn I've deleted messages before. What am I doing wrong?

You can delete messages, you just can't delete the first post in the thread because it wipes the whole thread.

Which post you need deleted? Link me to it so I get the right one.

It looks like it's already gone, Kat. It was a new thread that I started. So I guess we can't delete thread, even if we started it and there have been no replies? I guess I'm thinking of back when I used to be a moderator. I had the ability to do that then.

In case I get paranoid (DC looking over my shoulder), how do I go about deleting one or more of my previous previous posts?
