How many gallons to fill up at that point?

How big is your tank?

If mine gets to half a tank, I'm out of fuel? Generally if your sender is going south, it will move slower.

i cleaned and tweaked on my sender when i got my truck with it dead, i can run it till the light comes on and put 29 odd gallons in but i am not sure if it's a 34 or 35 gallon tank, half comes up at around 250 with my crappy 16-17 mpg (glad i didn't buy a gasser where 16-17 would be good if not great)

My light comes on at 27-28 gallons used.

First half of the tank runs me about 300 miles and the second half right around 200... Odd fuel sender I believe.

I see 400 in the first half. 225 at the 1/4. The needle does not move off the full mark untill I have driven 135 miles. I have a 34 gallon tank and my last trip was 740 miles the needle dead on the bottom mark and 3. 7 gallons left in the tank. ;)

You get 25mpg in your truck?

I fill up at 1/4 tank, normally it's about 375 miles. Put 23-24 gallons in.

Nate,

When I fill my tank, I fill to the absolute top where I cannot get another drop in. The tank is a 34 gallon stock tank, but with that said, I have no idea how much extra fuel will go into one up the filler and such. I fill the same way every time. My last trip up to Spokane this last Thursday, Friday and Saturday was done on a single tank. I hand calculate my mileage everytime. This particular trip I got 23. 125 mpg for 740 miles total. . I have cracked the 24 mpg mark only once since I have had my truck and that was when I had about 15,000 on it. I routinly get 22. 8 mpg on extended trips. Back and forth to work 23 miles one way I get 21. 9 to 22. 3 mpg. If I ever get enough money together to insall a set of lock out hubs, I think I can gain another 1 mpg.

My truck does pretty good for a 7,543 lbs block of weight, but I have picked all my mods with the intent of best performance for mileage and reliability. ;)

You say you have 285's. That will put your odometer short by 7-10% depending on what your stock tires were. Make sure you consider this when calculating the mileage.

yes that rite she drives the truck back and forth to work mostly stop and go traffic

the truck has 35 gallon tank with 410 rearend we don't top it off when the pump stops thats it

just as long as it seem in the rite ball park

thanks

My mileage and speed are dead on with my GPS. I have a Abbott Ratio Controller that allows me to dial in compensation for any tire size. ;) So my MPG is correct.
