OK, I am only 24, But I spent a lot of time around farms and in silos and on equipment when I was young. I had plenty of opportunities to lose a finger or something but I never did. Maybe I was smart or just lucky. I thank my parents for raising me the way they did. We never had anything that remotely resembled a nintendo, to this day still do not have cable or satelite, and had chores to do all the time. We played outside a lot and were rather unsafe a lot according to todays standards. But, I never had broken bones(drank lots of milk) and only went in a couple times for stiches. Fortunately, there are still people out there who raise there kids this way and I am proud that I was. I agree with everyone on this board, I was not as unsafe as the people over 40, but I was closer that some of todays kids. I wish it could still be the way it used to.
