I have noticed that my steering is getting pretty stiff on my 06 mega cab. It is pretty bad in the morning and after work. Acts like pressure is low. I am running 35s so I don't want the dealer to blame it on the tires. It hasn't always been this way but is starting to get bad. PS fluid level is OK.

I had the same problem and im running 285's and took the truck to the dealer and they fixed it with no questions asked!

Just like new now.

I noticed my power steering was weak last summer with 35s to. Now back to stock tires for winter and all is well.

Any one have the link for stretching the spring?

If in a low speed turn when you step on the brakes and the steering locks up it could be a pressure problem or a worn out pump. I don't know if Dodge still uses GM Steering box and Power Steering Pump like on mine.

I have weak steering as well... I replaced my pump with a orielly pump and it failed twice in less than a month on each one... I finally went and bought new one from dodge and it was way better. . It is getting week again. . I will search to see if I can find something on the spring...

My dealer told me they had a lot of trouble with the power steering pumps on the 2500-3500s and asked if I was noticing mine getting weak. At the time I was running 33s and wasn't noticing any problems. Now at 78k and still on 33s mine is starting to get weaker. One day when they're not too buisy I'll let them change it.

I recently took my 07 in for a leaky PS line, and they replaced the pump without me even asking. The new pump has a transparent reservoir and it feels MUCH better. I thought the steering was just a bit stiff because it was a bigger truck than my old 99 Suburban, but wow, its much nicer to be able to easily go lock to lock in parking spaces now.
