Weak tread mileage

Have 14 Mega 3500 SRW running factory tires ( Firestone Transport 275/70r/18 About 26000 and down to less then half tread depth. about 18000 miles towing 6900lbs on rear axle when towing. Original depth 15/32 most tires showing between 6-7 32nds. I do rotate . Run 60 up front 80 in rear when loaded and 60 in rear when empty . Any one getting any better mileage when towing . Thinking of seeing a Firestone representive about rapid wear. :{:{

Good luck with that. Those tires are complete garbage.

I'd say your front tire pressure is too low. What does the door jamb say? Weigh your front axle. I'd guess its close to 5500 lbs.

25K on my 2014 2500 with the same tread depth.

I also have the TransForce HT and just recently had them balanced and rotated. 3 have 8/32, and 1 has 7/32. I have close to 39K miles on them, and pull a 30' 5th wheel quite often. I honestly like these tires.

The avg miles I see on the firestone in my area is about 25k -at the tread wear indicaters

2016 2500 crew cab, and same tires and I am at about 50% tread at just 10,000 miles??
SO< I say your doing GREAT too??
I never get more than 35k out of ANY tires, too many stops turns and all types of road surfaces and speeds< 20+ trucks and most yrs 2 sets a tires a yr over the yrs, and NON last long for me?
30K and I;m happy?

Anyone seeing abnormal wear on the outer front edges of the front tires on the Transforce AT's? Mines got 13,000 miles on them.

When you look at the angle of the tires when wheels are turned, I'm not surprised at the wear ANY tire would have, given this.

My Transforce AT are down to 9/32 at 8,000 miles. That's 40% wear in 8,000 miles. I knew they were garbage, but this truly takes the cake.

Same here.. Have the firestones but i forget the model#.. Have 11k, tires are less than 50%. I dont tow usually, but do have gvw of 10,500+ all the time with boxes,tools,parts

Well it is nice to see a consensus in reguards to Transforce tire wear. It is generally crap !

My outer tread has a wear depth of 3/32 more . I make sure I run inflation as is posted on inside of door.
