A few months ago my boost fell off on my truck. It went from 25 or 27 peak to 23(on a hard run also). Thats with the wastegate unhooked. I have checked all the IC hoses and they are good. With the wastegate hooked up it only gets 16psi.
Since it cooled off last night(about 50*) I hammered down on it a few times and noticed something odd. From 1500 in third I nailed it. . boost climbed quick to 24 then fell off quick to 22 and stayed all the way through 4th. I think its blowing the wastegate open since it spiked to 24 then fell back off. That would be ok if the thing was even hooked up
I wonder if the dealer would accept my boost guage as a diagnostic tool. Stock with the EZ off and the gate hooked up it only pulls 16 if its lucky. But the truck runs great and is getting better MPG than it ever has?? I would not even worry about it except for the fact it used to be alot higher with the EZ elbow in it.
