How's your 2wd drive in the snow?

A/C troubles

Now that looks slick, gonna go measure, thanks!

I ordered one of these and received it in about four days. $37. 94 to the door. It is a really well built box with the cable system to lock it inside your vehicle utilizing the lock on the box, which by the way looks very substantial, it's a bar about 1/4" in diameter which locks into each side when secured. A Smith & Wesson SW40VE won't quiet go, a Keltec 9mm goes easily. For the money, it is nice to have if just to put your digital camera or any small valuable in when absent from the vehicle for a short time. bg

B. G. beat me to it, I've got the sentry safe and it will only fit my S&W MP 9mm compact. My full size MP40 won't fit so I'm looking for something like the 250$ console vault. Like others I'll only use it on the rare occasion it's not on me but I want security if it's in there. Also the sentry safe is great when you're in someone else's vehicle(wife, etc. ) due to the portability. Good luck and be safe.

I have a carry gun all the time. I also have a ruger 10/22 stuck in the seat beside me, pointed down to the floor board all the time too.

The console vault looks nice and all, but it takes a small space and makes it smaller.

I don't recall where I read about this (maybe in a dream), but I just can't find any info, so I thought I would throw it out there...

I recall something about a safe/vault that replaced the center seat under the center console. It couldn't be used for a comfortable seat anymore, but gave back all the room used for the cushioning and excess plastic for large, secure storage. For those of us with a Manual, the seat isn't used anyways.

If anyone else saw this or recalls this, please attach a link. I can't sleep at night! :)

David Kelly, Diesel Max is his business, I believe, is trying to get some made. They completely replace the lower center seat in your truck. I thought he had a website up, but I can't find it at the moment. He featured them in TDR New products a few back, I can't find which one at the moment, but here's a picture: He's waiting to get enough orders, 25, I think, to justify making a production run, so if you want one, put down a deposit and if/when he gets enough orders, he'll get 'em made. I think he's wanting $300 for them, with locks of several types... ...

I've talked to him several times, and these pictures are his, copyright protected by him, given to me for sales purposes only. Note he has a megacab version and a quadcab version, in three colors. He doesn't have the funding yet to get these made, just like a lot of us, with a family, and is trying to make it all work. I think it's a great product, from a great guy, but that's just my opinion... ... whatever that's worth...

What a good idea crunch, would be really good for road rage, eh? Clear up them traffic jams really quick. Got some drawings about the mounting and do you have any recs on the right parts to add . . ?

What's the point of locking a carry gun in in a small safe under the seat? You can't get to it quick if you need it and if somebody wants to steal it they'll just take the whole safe and deal with it later. I must be missing something.

It's for storing it safely while at locations where you cannot be legally armed. For example, when I go to the courthouse, or to renew my driver's license, or similar places that I must enter but where carry is prohibited by law.

And before anyone asks, those places do not include businesses. If a store is posted, I simply take my money elsewhere.

Exactly. And if they want the box, they're gonna have to take both seats with it. David Kelley's safe replaced the lower center seat, and the upper console bolts to it. Most smash and grabs go too quick to remove both seats... :D And mine only gets locked up when I'm going to church or something like the courthouse. If, for some reason, I don't have it on me, I have to have it locked up to keep my kids from getting to it... . one of them's too young to know any different. And when they get older, I don't want them burning all my ammo!! :-laf

Yeah, I haven't had an episode of road rage since I installed them.

Just make sure you get high quality servo motors and control arms for aiming the barrels, and don't set them too deep or your range of motion for aiming will be limited. Rule of thumb: Set them so that you can shoot the bull testicles off the receiver hitch of a 4X4 Chevy or Ford at 100 yards. Use a waterproof magazine if you mount it on the frame next to your onboard air and you too can honestly say "yes" when people ask you if you "own the road". If you live in Atlanta, LA or Dallas you might need to tap into the engine cooling system to keep the barrel cool during rush hour. But to be honest though, there are times when the weather is bad that I wish I had fog lights...
