Weigh truck prior to going to DMV

Do commercial vehicles have different plates than passenger vehicles or is it just the registration paperwork that is different?

In CA the only difference is the number /character format. Commercial format is "#X#####" else "#XXX###" or if old, "XXX ###". In some states the word "COMMERCIAL" or "TRUCK" may appear.



I use to fish out of Bishop at Horton Creek, nice natural Trout. But, that was long ago, don't know if it's still any good.

Once again, this forum proved invaluable. Just registered by '03 Quad 4X4 SB. Weighed in at 6940 lbs... . sans spare tire, jack, tools. Would never have though about the weight before regestering without this thread.
