How would your weight legalitys be if you took a 3500 cab and set it on a freight liner frame. Would you still go by what is on the door for gross weight?

An interesting question that I do not know the answer to. FYI, the Kentucky Department of Motor Vehicles issued me a 6,000Lb plate for my F350 and I would bet dollars to doughnuts it weighs more than that empty.

Our construction company has a 1995 3500 reg cab with a dump bed cummins 5spd 4x4 and it wieghs 10,300 w/ two people and a snow plow on it. The legal gvwr is like 11,500. But i just totaled it this last week. Bent frame and did a number on the cab. Chopped two telephone poles off. Anyhow these trucks weigh alot.

My guess;



- If its registered as the Dodge with the Dodge VIN, then the GVWR and other weight ratings will be the Dodge's.

- If you want to have the truck inspected as a u-built hybrid of some sort, you may be able to have the ratings changed.
